The Dead Crowd formed in the short, dark days of January 2024, crafting emotional sonic landscapes that drift between atmospheric shoegaze and melodic indie rock. The band features vocalist Tina Romo, guitarist Peter Romo, bassist Adam Murray, drummer Tim van de Ven, and newest member, keyboardist Lauren Hughes.

Drawing inspiration from Swim School, early Boxer Rebellion, and mid‑career Oasis, their sound blends heavy melodic guitars, soft soaring vocals, lyrical basslines, atmospheric keys, and in‑the‑pocket drumming—coming together in a cinematic, immersive style. Vocally, The Dead Crowd is often compared to Metric, The Cranberries, and Mazzy Star, giving their music a distinct emotional clarity and dream‑tinged edge.

Their first two singles, “Quiet of the Night” and “Something Real”, released in summer 2025, earned strong local and international support, receiving consistent airplay from Germany to Spain, Australia to California. “Something Real” also appeared on three “Best of 2025” lists: DKFM (California), Ray on the Radio (Northumberland 89.7 FM), and Excursions Radio (Peterborough).

Known for dynamic live performances marked by wide emotional range and rising waves of intensity, The Dead Crowd will release their debut 5‑song EP in October 2026 (available to stream on the 15th), with plans to bring their evolving sound to shows and festivals across Ontario throughout 2026/27.
